Transmission: Jedi Classes on Tython

December 30, 2012 in Articles, JEDl News

-INCOMING TRANSMISSION-

PRIORITY: Moderate

LOCATION: Jedi Temple, Tython

Greetings all my wonderful students and Jedi, it is Master Terranemia Drakontas.  I am sending you all a priority reminder about the classes being offered by the Order and when they will be taking place.  I encourage each and everyone to read the follow account of the classes and what is offered, but you should take them all as well, simply because I know you will enjoy the classes, even if they are not taught by me.

I should begin with who is teaching classes.  Our Order cycles through teachers each week of the month, with each School teaching the core classes weekly.  Each week, the Council Members of the School will advise you of the time of classes in the Classes Sub Forum on the Holonet, with time and locations provided.  The location of the Classes are always on Tython unless otherwise noted there.  Because each school has a week dedicated to teaching the classes, we do have an order in which the Schools go in, which are as follows:

Week 1: Guardians

Week 2: Consulars (Sages)

Week 3: Sentinels

Week 4: Mystics (Shadows)

Now I know a great deal of you have your head wondering, “What kind of classes are they?”  Well worry not my students, I shall tell you of course.  Master Terra would never hide any secrets from you.  The classes I speak of are the Core Classes of the Order, regularly taught and very popular among the Order.  You should all attend as often as possible, as participation and attendance is encouraged, but not mandatory.  However, in order to advance within the order, you will need to atleast take all the classes at some point.

Seeing as you understand some of the nature of the classes, why not discuss some of what you will be taught in teach one:

Initiate Orientation: Here you will learn the basics of our Order, including the Titles of Jedi, introduction to each Jedi School, an over view on the communication option, and Rules we enforce as part of our Order.

Combat Readiness: Combat is important, but being ready and preparing for it is also important.  Here you will learn step to prepare for a fight, including how to equip appropriate gear, how to find the best equipment, training options, and discussion on Skills you can teach your Crew.

Path of Study: Because our Order has many different Schools, we offer a class on each school’s purpose and place in our Order, including their non-combat purpose, as well as their historical place in our Order, and some of their combat roles  each school fill.

Lightsaber Combat: Jedi believe that non-violent solutions are preferable, Jedi also believe that they be prepared to defend themselves.  This class teaches the basics of saber combat and how best to attack and defend against other Force Users.

Leadership Training: Each Jedi is to be the leader when their community.  This classes teaches each Jedi who take control of a group and how best to use each person’s ability to the benefit of the group.

Beyond these core classes, other classes are occasionally taught as well by other Members of the Order.  These classes are never mandatory, but are recommended for anyone looking for chances to learn more about the Jedi or other possible.  What I speak of is just a short list of some of the classes, which are never frequently taught, but done so occasional:

Individual School Training: Each school has the option to teach classes tailored for their school.  These classes may focus on the purpose or lore of the Schools, Or focus on the purpose and combat of it.

Lore and History: These are classes that focus on history or certain lore behind the Order or points in history.  These are taught usually by those who have focused on a particular point in the Republic’s or Empire’s history, or events that occurred that have shaped the galaxy.

Role Playing: Classes like this help focus on your character and the history or lore behind them.  Along with generally assisting in helping you interact with other people better.((This class is generally taught in OCC))

As a starch believer in learning and instruction, I implore each and every one of you to attend each and every class as often as possible.  The order grows only because knowledge is passed from one person to another, and when the chain is broken, then we can no longer grow as a Jedi or as an Order.

Until then everyone, this is Master Terra, wishing that the Force guide you, and that you all go in Peace.

Return to the Master’s Retreat

December 23, 2012 in JEDl News

After many deliberation, the council has decided to welcome younglings to the Master’s Retreat. For many years, the Master’s Retreat has been a private home for Masters to meditate and study the arts of the Force, trusting only a hand few to join the Retreat with their Master for training and contemplation. But with the volume of Younglings and Initiates join the Order frequently, the Council had decided to lift the ban and welcome all members of the Order to the Retreat during the Order’s biweekly Initiation Ceremony.

Masters Retreat has multiple floors to accommodate various purposes and functions. The first floor had landing pads for transportation back to the mainland and to the temple, with further pads for incoming shuttles from the orbiting station above the planet. The second floor offers meeting spaces for planning and discussing the war efforts, and meditation chambers for those Masters seeking a bit of peace and quiet while they contemplate the very nature of the galaxy and Force before them. The second floor has a number of private chambers for personal use, along with a direct link to the Archives for information services to be readily available at a moment’s notice. The final floor offers an extended sparring area, with reinforced walls and grounds for the most destructive of Jedi Master’s seeking to hone their skills with their Lightsabers.

Speaking of Councils….

The 4th Council was charged by Master Adairi to reform the Council in to the 5th Council. With such a request, the 4th Council visited many Masters and Knights, interviewing the best possible candidates for the position of Grand Masters for each of the schools. After much work and deliberation from the 4th Council, Master Adairi decided to appoint Master Cindyk Flylight, Master Aegiss Shan, Master Scanter Lightfly, and Master Visrem Mistwalker to their respective schools’ Grand Master positions on the council.

Following their appointment, each Grand Master selected two additional Master or Knights to join them on the council, filling vital roles in assistance to the Grand Master. When all positions of the 5th Council were filled, the Final act of Grand Master Adairi was to appoint a New Grand Master of the Order. The First act of the 5th Council choose to Master Scanter Lightfly to be the next Grand Master of the Order. With his guidance, maybe the Order continue to thrive and persevere over their enemies.

Though curious can see those appointed to the 5th Council is as follows:

Guardian’s Grand Master: Cindyk Flylight
Guardian Warrior Master: Panzzer Megatron
Guardian Temple Knight: Kaldd Kasst

Consular Grand Master: Aegiss Shan
Consular Sage Master(PvE): Elsitta
Consular Oracle Master(PvP): -Vacant-

Sentinel Grand Master: Scanter Lightfly
Sentinel Warden Master(PvE): Gi’arl Zar’vhal
Sentinel Watchmen Master(PvP): Zykane Ravenbane

Mystic Grand Master: Visrem Mistwalker
Mystic Shadow Master(PvE): Terranemia Drakontas
Mystic Shaman Master(PvP): Michele Wolfe

Please welcome our Council, those returning and those new to the Council.

Reports are coming in of destruction on a massive scale today after a major battle between Republic and Imperial forces was waged on the planet of Illum. Casualty reports are still coming in but the death tole is estimated to be in the hundreds from both sides. Jedi Master Jenar Renn had been seen carried off by medic to be treated for Second degree burns caused from a Mandalorian who had used his flamethrower on him. Master Renn valiantly fought off over half a dozen men before he fell. It was thanks to another member of JEDL who has requested not to be named was able to drag him out of the fray. Master Renn was later released with a clean bill of health and a rather dashing scar on his back.

The planet had not seen this much fighting since the war began with mostly skirmishes that lasted for only a short while. The Imperial forces controlled the center munitions dump for the planet which caused immediate republic retaliation. Just as the Republic seemed to have complete control a squad of Mandalorians could be seen dropping from orbit on their Mark III Baslisk war droids. The ensuing battle went from a small skirmish to all out war. Following the Mandalorian assault was two full eight man squads of Imperial troops lead by members of the Sith Order.

The battle raged for many hours before both sides had to retreat to their respective bases on the planet to regroup and re-arm. This war has been over the much sought after Adegan crystals which Jedi have made pilgrimages to retrieve for thousands of years. The empire has found alternate ways to harness these crystals power. Current information on for what purpose is currently classified.

This battle is just the first of many battles to come in budding war between the Empire and the Republic. This reporter can safely say that dark times are ahead and we must stand resolute in the face of such horror. Purchase war bonds for the republic today!

Why you don’t turn your back, or your blaster, on a Mandolorian

February 26, 2012 in MANDO News

Yesterday, there was quite a site at the Mandolorian Enclave in ‘Kaas City. A reported number of 25 Mandolorian warriors gathered at the entrance to hold a ceremonious meeting of their leadership, and induction of newer members to their ranks. The Mandolorians have long been a major player in the Empire’s rise to power in the Core worlds and throughout the Galaxy.   Thier strength and tenacity in battle has earned them top positions… and top pay… in the military skirmishes with the Galactic Republic and in the previous war. Yesterday there was quite the stir when also spotted watching over the Mando’ gathering, was a large number of Sith Lords, Darths , and apprentices from the Sith Order. This particular sect of Sith are considered friends and allies of the Mando’ade… or so it is told.

During a ceremonious right of passage the Mandolorians called “The Blooding” or as it has been known by others  ”The Battle Royale” a bit of an interruption caused an already blood thirsty and adrenal pumped Mandolorian gathering… into an absolute massacre. A little background first… The Blooding or Battle Royale, is an ages old ceremony where the new recruits (Ge’verd in Mando’a tounge) are sent to an arena to battle it out in honorable combat against their fellow recruits to spill first blood in the name of the Mandalore, and their pledged Clans.  From what is being told, after the battle itself, when the Mandolorians were tending to the wounded and getting ready to gather the Clans to give tasks to the newly titled  Evaar’la Verd (Mando’a for New Warrior) two Sith  reportedly attacked one of the younger Mandolorians. Seeing an Vode fall (brother or sister) sent these already blood raged Mandolorians into an all out frenzy. The Mandos quickly turned their blasters to the onlooking Sith Order and began to paint the Tatooine sand in a motif of blood and carbon scoring that would make the Mandalore himself look on in awe and appreciation. Every last Sith was slain that day in retaliation to the seemingly un-provoked attack, even those not wishing to be a part of it… no one was left standing before the might of the Mandolorians.

After the smoke settled, and the wounded tended to, it was said that the entire thing was a misunderstanding, that it was a joke between a few friends that escalated when a Mandolorian was slain. This is the story is according to sources interviewed from the Sith Order itself . The Sith involved in the attack, and the victim will not be named, for the record has been wiped clean. Its told that the Mandolorians still consider these particular Sith to be their allies and friends, only now, taught a lesson to WHY they are…  and that NO ONE messes with the Mando’ade and lives to tell the tale.

When there is a battle to be fought, a war to be won and enemies to be brought down, the Mandolorians will be there ready to fight, win and if necessary, die for their cause and their family. The moral of this story is to show that friends or not … you never turn your back to a Mandolorian, or your Blaster.

Children of Apate! Tython in Chaos!

February 25, 2012 in Articles

Today pandamonium struck during the Council Hearing #239 involving the assassin who attempted to kill Visrem  last weekend. Right before sentancing a mysterious male  figure spoke of  a bomb threat and took the council hostage. The mysterious figure freed the assassin. The assassin attacked Visrem, injuring him, and they fled the scene with Master Lyl’lith as leverage.  Visrem was able to muster some strength to organized a search party and later found Lyl’lith in a nearby cave. The jedi search party chased the rogues to some nearby ruins wear the jedi wear able to put an end to the threat.
After intense searching there was no bomb found inside the temple. It seemed to have been a cruel lie to get compliance from the crowd. Above is a picture of the rogues that was taken by Lyl’lith during her time bieng a captive. The two figures with there sabers out are the ones that attacked the council. The one in the background has yet to be identified.
Some more troubling news is the recovery team went back and were unable to find the rogues’ bodies. It is believed at this time that it is possible they are still alive. Temple security is on high alert and all are on the look out for suspicious behavior. All we know about these rogues is that they worship a godess called Apate- the godess of Deceit and are extremely dangerous. Padawan Leora is taking the lead in the investigation of this rogue cult. If you have any information, please report it to your local authorities.

On a lighter note- no jedi were killed during the tragedy. Master Visrem will recover shortly and master Lyl’lith took a small injury to the leg.  However, This tragedy has brought out a darker side of the jedi council.. Rumors say that the jedi hunt party were extremely aggressive in the hunt for the assassins. Hopefully, these rumors are false. May the force be with us all. Signing off.

Let’s Play Huttball!

February 24, 2012 in Articles

An announcement shows up on your Holo-cam.
Announcer: And now a special report from our undercover reporter.

~If you’re the kind of person who revels in combat against others of your skill, then you know exactly what Huttball is. Even those of you who don’t prefer person versus person combat, you’ve probably heard something about Huttball. The truth is, Huttball is a sport unlike any we have ever seen and according to polls and an interview with the host and his team, it is going to be a sport we will be seeing for a long time to come.

~Hello, everyone. I won’t tell you my name for security purposes; for simplicity’s sake, you can call me Agent. I’m here to bring you an up close and personal look into the horrible, man to man, in your face, if-you’re-not-stunned-to-oblivion-you’re-doing-it-wrong sport of Huttball. This high contact and almost deadly sport has been broadcast over holo-cams and the holo-net for years and yet we never really knew much about it. Giradda the Hutt is, unfortunately, a very personal Hutt and likes his privacy. Luckily for you, I happen to be great at getting into places the famous want to keep locked up. And so, I have the pleasure–if you can call being in a Hutt’s presence for an hour pleasurable–to bring you an interview with Huttball’s greatest host, Giradda the Hutt. (Translated into Basic for those who don’t know Huttenese that well).

Agent: Giradda, thank you for allowing us the chance to hear from you about this sport you’ve brought to countless billions; Huttball.

Giradda: Do not mock me, Agent. Stealing into my palace, destroying my surveillance, and killing my guards.

Agent: Of course, it was my pleasure. Now, tell me, Giradda, how and where did you come up with this crazy idea of a game?

Giradda: I will tell you only to give guards more time to show up and kill you. Huttball is my way of having you lesser beings please me by trying to kill each other for no other reason than to throw a time-bomb shaped like a ball over a line. Watching you blast, stab, throw each other, rocks, and lightning just for a pittance of credits is amusing to me.

Agent: Ah, I kind of figured you for a huge **** that would like that kind of thing. You sound like my kind of Hutt, Giradda. So, how did you come up with the rules?

Giradda: I did not. Baron Deathmark make rules. He announces them every game and gives me play by play as you all waste your lives for me.

Agent: Ah, and where is the Baron then? I’d like to have some words with him.

Baron Deathmark VIA Holo-cam: It was easy. The great Giradda paid me to think of a simple and inexpensive way for him to have you lesser beings kill each other in a glorious display of brutality and show. So, I put a ball in the middle of a death trap and had two lines drawn on the end of the room. I contacted Czerka Corp. for assistance with the traps and obstacles and they gladly provided such toys as would befit a game sponsored by a Hutt as prodigious, respected, bountiful, large and—

Agent: Of course, he’s a fat slug with credits. Is that really all it took, Baron? One would think that someone with your obvious “smarts” would at least put a little work into creating something as exciting as Huttball.

Baron Deathmark: Bah, the idea was simple. But you try putting together an arena that big to hold as many people as you can imagines try to attend these games personally, fit in the traps and mechanics, and of course all while on a budget. I had to get creative -building- the game, not making it. Any idiot could have thought of this thing. Putting it together was the hard part.

Agent: I see, I see. Well, that sounds like your guards at the door, Giradda. I hope they don’t try to force it open with the pressure bomb I hooked—

Giradda: Fools! Stay out, stay out!

Agent: Oh, Giradda, you’re so funny when you’re scared ****less. Anyway, I better be going. Don’t worry though, I’ll be back to finish this when you’re not nearly so busy.

That, ladies and gentle-beings was a FUN afternoon. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. And for those of you who may think I’m a bit evil what with that door bomb… I lied.

This is Agent, your source for the top-secret interviews you never would have gotten otherwise, saying Goodnight.

The image blacks out.

More Troops Deployed

February 23, 2012 in Articles

Rahkgouls…. Horrible creatures that have plagued Taris for ages… and its still getting worse. The republic is having to send in more and more troops each day to Taris to fight of the infestation. How are they multiplying so fast? Mutatating people, breeding, or empirial interference? Who knows..What we do know is that they are getting out of hand. The governor of Taris is asking for help in lowering the population of rahkgouls. “We are trying very hard to re-establish Taris… to show that the republic can save the most blighted worlds.. We need all the help we can get.” She says during a personal interview.  Above is a picture of our brave troops preparing to set out into the dangerous jungles of Taris. We salute you all.

As of now, multiple jedi and soldiers are bieng deployed. Any type of aid would be a blessing. Medic, soldier, or even an ammunition runner could save the lives of our troops. The governor has even asked for scientists to please help out with research into rahkgouls and help out with the colonization effort.

However, Taris is not for everyone. To keep the death total down anyone who is not suited for combat please stay in designated colonization areas..  Thank You.

A Ghostly Return

February 21, 2012 in Articles, Ghost News

Ghost Division troops prepare for an operation

No, it’s not a haunting plaguing the separatists of Ord Mantell, not even ghouls terrorizing the Imperials on Alderaan. The fact is the much talked about but little seen GHOST Division is fully operational once more according to my inside sources. It’s said the 84th Special Response Division is being led by Colonel Varias Drogo, a native of Corellia and veteran of the Sacking of Coruscant. When he was recently spotted on the capital steps of Coruscant this reporter was promptly blown off and told, “Get that damn holorecorder out of my face. I don’t do interviews and I never will. Well unless you want to be interrogated…” Seeing that this reporter did not, I left.

Details are scarce when it comes to their area of operation, but my sources also peg them a having a reaching as far as the Galactic Republics border. Reports are already coming in that the Black Sun has already been dealt a harsh blow by their hand. Hopefully this is true and their return marks a bright spot for the galaxy and it’s citizens. Until then we can only speculate and listen for rumors of the unseen crippling those who should never be seen again.

The Real Mandalorian- By Jaminos

February 20, 2012 in JEDl News

The real Mandalorian

By Jaminos Val’dar, Leader of Clan Val’dar

Since the first invasion ever made by Mandalorians, we have been seen as many things. Warriors, Conquerors, Warmongers, beings of legendary strength and skill with a rugged sense of honor.

However, The galaxy has rarely taken the time to see what a real Mandalorian is. We have been given the personification of death itself. A vision well earned. But the average Mandalorian does not wage war every day, non stop.

In Truth we are not so different then the common man you see on Dantooine cultivating his crops. The Coruscant taxi driver who works to provide for his family. No we are very much the same. Now no self respecting Mandalorian would like to compare himself to the life of anyone except another Mandalorian so you will rarely see who we truly are.

The fact is we are still sentient creatures who fight to live. After a world is conquered do we just leave it there to rebuild itself and some day attack? No. We conquered it because we need resources to help sustain our people. There are many innocents that you never see because we guard them with Beskar and blasters. The real Mandalorian has a family whom he fights to make sure they are always safe and happy. I myself have put my Beskar’gam away and taken up a a life of medicine. While it may seem strange for the outside eye looking in, I have treated more patients then I have conquered worlds.

The true fact of the matter is while we do fight often. We fight for a reason. We have families and innocents we do protect. Does this make us weak? No. For we still are the most dangerous group of warriors to ever exist. But that Mandalorian who just shot you more then likely spent his time off building a home for his family or time tending the baby while his wife rested.

We may not show it but Mandalorians do have other lives you will never see. Beware the father who is burping his baby. Because he can still kill you in over sixty different ways with a newborn in his arms.

Assassination Attempt Failed!!!

February 18, 2012 in Articles, JEDl News

Late last night, a sith assassin sneaked into Visrem’s quarters on Tython seeking to end our beloved headmasters life.
Luckily for us, Visrem was able to fight off the intruder using his stuffed
teddy bear named fluff-a-luff. “I heard the door open and the first natural
reaction for me was to throw my teddy bear. It distracted him long enough for
me to get my lightsaber from my bed-side table. Thank goodness I hadn’t fallen
asleep yet or I wouldn’t be standing here at this very moment,” said Visrem
after the attack. Visrem was able to take the assassin into custody with minor
injuries with the assistance of local padawans who were awakened by the
fighting.

This is a troubling situation for the Jedl order. Security in the temple has been raised significantly and all members are
being advised to report any suspicious behavior. If you have any information on
how this assassin was able to infiltrate the temple, please contact your local
authorities.

All information on the assassin, as in race, sex, and name, are confidential at the moment.  The court proceedings on sentencing for the
assassin will take place next weekend.
